What it’s like to work for Handler: Tammy McElroy
Tammy McElroy is one of our search consultants.
Tammy came to Handler after a career in education both as a teacher and a consultant developing curricula for private and public schools—she even co-authored a book “The Edutainer: Connecting the Art and Science of Teaching.
We recently asked Tammy to share her experiences working with Handler and here’s what she shared with us!
Question: What made you want to work for Handler?
Tammy: The Handler Team’s values and the opportunity to change people’s lives!
Question: What do you like about Handler’s approach to recruiting?
Tammy: Our honesty, integrity, and excitement for what we do!
Question: What does it mean to be “100% For One Another?”
Tammy: Understanding that each and every one of us brings uniqueness and a different set of tools to the table.
We honor, respect, and support that in all of us.
Question: What does a typical day look like for Handler? Is there such a thing as a typical day?
Tammy: Recruit, Recruit, Recruit…Work to understand the client’s needs, source for that talent, and hopefully get that candidate over the finish line.
Question: What can you tell us “being a leader worth following” is to you?
Tammy: Someone who wants to surround himself or herself with the best.
Someone who is humble and willing to support and encourage the talent within the team.
Most importantly, a leader worth following is a person who is humble and willing to listen to those around them.
Question: What is 1 memorable experience from your time with Handler?
Tammy: Our Christmas party via Zoom. It was a wine tasting and charcuterie board sampling. We made the best out of the Covid situation and really enjoyed ourselves.
It was sheer fun that was certainly needed.
