What it’s like to work for Handler: Christi Howard

Christi Howard is a Search Consultant for Handler.

She came to Handler after a career in the non-profit world serving others across Atlanta. She previously led recruitment activities for Atlanta’s Brandon Hall International Boarding and Day School and worked as a program administrator for FaithBridge Foster Care.

Christi is a Roswell, GA resident who loves spending time with her friends, family, husband and grandchildren—it’s also not uncommon to see her taking a Zoom call from the beach (any beach will do).

We recently asked Christi to share her experiences working with Handler and here’s what she shared with us!

Question: What made you want to work for Handler? 

Christi: I worked with Laura Lloyd at a previous company, and she is definitely a Leader Worth Following! 

Question: What do you like about Handler’s approach to recruiting?

Christi: The partnerships we develop with our clients and the opportunity we have each day to positively impact candidates and hiring managers.

Question: What does it mean to be “100% For One Another?”

Christi: Team Handler has my back – no matter what!

Question: What does a typical day look like for Handler? Is there such a thing as a typical day?

Christi: “Each day is a combination of search launch calls with hiring managers, sourcing candidates, phone and video calls with candidates, preparing candidate presentations and presenting candidates to the hiring manager. Plus, scheduling candidate interviews, following up with candidates and hiring managers for feedback, and then the best part – making offers to candidates!”

Question: What can you tell us “being a leader worth following” is to you?

Christi: A leader worth following is someone that truly cares about their team – not just with words, but with their actions. 

Question: What is 1 memorable experience from your time with Handler? 

Christi: I made a job offer to a candidate for an hourly position, and she was so happy and excited – “hooting and hollering” over the phone. She shared with me that it was her birthday and the job offer was the best birthday gift she had ever received. It was truly another life impacted.
