Communication throughout hiring process is key
I had the pleasure recently of speaking with Scott Huling, Director of Sales, Southeast at S.P. Richards to talk about his experience with our team. I have worked with Scott for over a year now. Scott is unique as he has actually experienced Handler from both a candidate perspective and as a hiring manager.
Handler recruited Scott to his current role as Director of Sales, Southeast. We were so pleased to attract Scott as a sales leader.
As a hiring manager, Scott leads a team in seven, soon to be eight states in the Southeast, and his team continues to grow. This makes it hard to find quality people in each state and interview them face-to-face. Handler has worked with Scott for many of these new hires.
“Just aligning what we need at SPR from a good fit in these roles is critical, as you know. Handler has done a great job at understanding that process. From initializing with me what good looks like in each of the states, because each state is a little different in what we’re looking for, but overall, the fit has been great.”
Communication throughout the hiring process, both from a candidate and a hiring manager, is critical – everything from emails to video calls to text messages when needed happened throughout the process. Scott says it sometimes requires numerous communications between he and Handler to ensure we get the right candidate in place. And as a candidate, Scott felt the same excellence with communication. He knew exactly where he stood throughout the hiring process.
“Handler has always been exceptional.”
